"Chance" is a very special horse. He came to HCHF along with his buddy, Cash, to be placed in a loving forever home. Chance is owned by a family that is very special to me. I will do my best to describe it briefly below;

I grew up riding horses with and admiring a man by the name of Hugh Wilder. He is a phenomenal horseman with an incredible eye for a good quality walking horse. A good mind came as first requirement with good gaits and conformation a close second. Mr. Wilder has since aged and his family is now faced with the situation of placing his horses in good homes. Chance and Cash are these two horses. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to help Mr. Wilder place these horse in the loving homes they deserve. So far, Cash has been placed with a wonderful mother-daughter team that seem to love him as much as we do! They went to their first show today and were already in the ribbons! That's a Hugh Wilder horse for you if there ever was!! Chance is now available to that perfect, deserving home.

Chance has had a tremendous amount of trail riding experience. He has been all over the mountains as well as all over the field trial grounds at Hoffman NC, near Southern Pines. Mr. Wilder's son and daughter-in-law have been trail ridding Chance recently and they both just love him to pieces. They say he makes you feel like a kid again when you ride him! I was not sure what they meant until my husband and I started trail riding him, but I know now! He is just soooo much fun! He just shakes his little head off out on a trail and he really seems to just love it! We actually just took him to the mountains last week and he was awesome. He crossed the creeks and led the herd when the others were afraid. He did well in the front or the back of the group. Then today we took him to a horse show. We just rode him around, we did not show, he was so quiet with the horse show environment. But I do think he was looking for the hole in the woods to go trail ride!

"Chance" is registered and comes from very good, old foundation Walking horse blood. He is very much a foundation type of Walker. He is line-bred Suns Delight so he goes back to Midnight Sun and Wilson's Allen as well as Last Chance really close!!!

He stands just shy of 15 hh and is about as wide as he is tall! He is built Very solid and stout. He is short backed and short coupled. He has great bone and feet. He has a nice head bobbing walk. He loves to go out on the trails and he will lead the pack or follow behind. He neck reins nicely on the trail and travels well on a loose rein. He is a Very easy keeper, he is the kind of boy that will stay fat off air! The way hay and feed prices are climbing that is really a plus these days! He has a beautiful Liver Chestnut color with a big thick tail. Please check out his new videos!
